Welcome to artofsumo.com. Robin Redruth Bray was born in North Carolina in 1955 and has been producing art for most of his life. A 1977 graduate of the Corcoran School of Art & Design in Washington, D.C., he has worked as a fine artist and as an Art Director for several large companies including The National Geographic Society and Time-Life Inc. At age 65 his life is focused now only on his family and his fine art etching, drawing and painting. He currently keeps his studio on the outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina in the small town of Mint Hill.
This is where Sumo Art happens.
Robin has two assistants in his studio. Furry and four footed, they are called Marilyn and Theisman. Their main task is to have Robin open and close the doors to the back garden while he is
trying to work. And to bark loudly when the post arrives, a car or truck drives by,
or for no reason whatsoever.
